Youth Paddling Program

Outrigger canoe paddling builds teamwork, trust, discipline, and sportsmanship while having loads of fun out on the water! The goal of this  youth program is to get kids on the water having fun, learning basic paddling skills, competing in local races, and learning to enjoy  the water and ocean and to take care of our amazing resource. Come learn about outrigger paddling with other kids!

From the U-19 coach - Suzanne Serafin:

“I am excited to be continuing this program. I started paddling in my teens and it has had an incredible impact on my life. I have coached kids, novices, men and women over the years. but no one seems to have as much fun as the U19s.

I have competed in Outriggers, and Dragon Boats, all over the world and the one thing I know for sure is that it better be fun to work hard because it takes both to be successful.”

What to wear

  • Wear clothes that can get wet. For instance, a rash guard top and trunks or gym pants. No cotton please.

  • Wear rubber flip flops or water shoes for walking on the grass and shells.

  • Please bring sunscreen, drinking water, towel, and warm clothes to change into after practice.
