Offseason Paddling for Members

Off season OC6 paddling occurs every Sunday for Hanohano members during the non-racing time of the year. Off season paddling in the 6 man canoes occurs every Sunday (October - February), starting on October 16, 2022. If you are a Hanohano member and want to be on the weekly email to sign up to come, contact Peggy Goddard.

Schedule - Paddlers should arrive on site at 7:45 am. Canoes will be moved to start the paddle at 8 am with the goal of being back on the beach by 10 am. Please note - Everyone must sign a 2024 SCORA waiver before getting in a canoe.

  • Members:

    • Paddlers must sign up to participate. If you are signed up but unable to participate, please let Peggy know by Saturday, so those on the wait list can be notified there is a spot.

    • No shows - Paddlers may want to come down even if they are on the wait list as there are often no-shows. However, come with a back-up plan in case there are no spots available on the canoes.

  • Non-members:

    • You must be accompanied by a member of Hanohano to participate in offseason paddling.

    • Non-members pay $5 per paddle after their first time.

    • If you plan to join Hanohano in 2023, you can pre-pay the $50 initiation fee and the $5 per paddle will be waived.

New Paddler Day

Interested in trying out outrigger canoe paddling? Hanohano typically offers New Paddler Days for folks just like you who want to try out paddling in an OC6! There will be a few "New-Paddler Days" where new people can come without a current member.
